On behalf of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment I
acknowledge your email of 12/03/2026 requesting, under the Official
Information Act 1982, the following:
 
I note that Todd Energy has been selected as the preferred lead contractor
for the superhot geothermal well.

I’m interested in any involvement Todd Energy had in the project prior to
being named as preferred lead contractor.

Please supply copies of all correspondence with Todd energy, its
employees, affiliates, owners and/or representatives relating to any stage
of the superhot geothermal project. Correspondence should include, but not
be limited to, emails, letters, meeting invitations, agendas,
notes/minutes and recollections of such meetings, phone logs, notes and
recollections of such phone calls.

I do not need copies of standard documents relating to the procurement of
a lead contractor that went to all parties or were publicly available, but
i am interested in any individual communication with Todd Energy during
this process.
 
We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible, and no
later than 13/04/2026, being 20 working days after the day your request
was received. If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will
notify you of an extension of that timeframe. If you have any enquiries
