Dear Ministry of Education,

I am writing to request information relating to education services for young pregnant women. The information I require is as follows:
1) How many young women accessing education providers across the greater Wellington region (domicile of the 3 DHBs in region) are identified as either pregnant or mothering a young child/ren aged 1 year or less, per annum?

2) How many of the above women/ young partners present to the Educational provider for Social work type input
i) in relation to housing issues / income support issues
ii) personal or relationship issues e.g. domestic violence, alcohol or drug addiction issues or mental health concerns?
iii) how many report living in unsafe housing or overcrowded housing with family or report homelessness?

3) How many identified pregnant women or young parents in our greater Wellington region drop out of education as a result of complex social issues in the context of parenting or pregnancy?
