Bronwyn Drysdale made this Official Information request to Ministry of Social Development
The request was successful.
From: Bronwyn Drysdale
Dear Ministry of Social Development,
The information I require is as follows:
1) How many pregnant women under the age of 25 were there that presented to the three District Health Boards (Wellington region CCDHB; Hutt Valley DHB; and Wairarapa DHB) each year between 2010 and 2015:
1a) What was the proportional ethnicity data in relation to this total number?
2) How many to the same hospitals, presented with a history of CYF involvement during their own childhood?
or were identified at presentation or during care provision as having “vulnerable pregnancies”?
and / or gave birth to children who presented to hospital emergency or paediatric departments and were subsequently flagged as vulnerable, thereby requiring external support or intervention, or CYFS overview before the age of one?
3) How many women under 25 years living within this specific catchment area of the three DHB's domiciles, had babies that were uplifted by CYFS due to lack of safety for the infant within the two years ?
I look forward to receiving this information from you in due course.
Yours faithfully,
Bronwyn Drysdale.
