Reason for counselor service delays in Egypt
M. S. made this Official Information request to Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for M. S. to read a recent response and update the status.
From: M. S.
Dear Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade,
We are kiwis living overseas for family reasons. We requested counselor services since more than 15 days now (since 3rd Feb 2026). We had an appointment 2 days back, Part of the papers were verified other was not due to NZQA website was down, so they couldn't verify the papers online at the time. Despite coming to the embassy from 2 hours driving way, we had to agree to get back once the website is up to verify the papers, and we have been told that once the website is up the papers will be verified and stamped and waiting collection. We contacted the embassy once more today and councilor is not available even after asking to speak to them, no use, no one is fulfilling the request to let me speak to them.
Now my kid is very delayed to apply for his university due to this paper authentication.
My question is what's happening causing all that delay in the NZ embassy in Egypt, although when we went for authenticating paper last time, we were the only members of the public at the embassy?
Why we have to delay my kids university application by almost a full term due to the delays in authenticating a paper?
Why the NZ counselor in Egypt is not answering nor speaking to Kiwis members of the public?
Last but not least, in the news it showed NZ ambassador showing appreciation of the Egyptian Mango. As per one of the many links available
https://www.aletihad.ae/news/%D8%AF%D9%8...
In case there are times to do so, why there's no much time to conclude our counselor paper work request?
Yours faithfully,
M. S.
