‘Can you please provide me with statistics around how many students were
enrolled in each degree programme for:

Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) part 1 (from 2022-2025)

Bachelor of Science in statistics year 1 (from 2022-2025)

Bachelor of Science in mathematics year 1 (from 2022-2025)

Bachelor of Science in data science year 1 (from 2022-2025)

Bachelor of Science in computer science year 1 (from 2022-2025)

Bachelor of Science in IT management year 1 (from 2022-2025)

Bachelor of Commerce in information systems year 1 (from 2022-2025)

Bachelor of Commerce in Business Analytics year 1 (from 2022-2025)’

Please find the requested information attached, subject to the following:

o The number of enrolments (with specified plans) is information that
has originated from applications for that particular year.
o Most applications will be for students entering ‘Year 1’ or ‘Part 1’
of the programme, however this data will also include some who are
transferring / have cross credits, or who may be studying part time,
so they may not necessarily all be ‘Part 1’ students.
o Information has been supplied for ‘Bachelor of Science, Statistics’
and ‘Bachelor of Science, Mathematics’.  This does not include
‘Bachelor of Science, Applied Statistics’ or ‘Bachelor of Science,
Applied Mathematics’, which have <7 students.

I have been advised that whilst the University holds the requested
statistics for Year 1, or Part 1 of a programme, the University does not
hold these statistics, broken down by plan/major/specialisation or part,
for subsequent years, and cannot readily create them by generating reports
from our systems.  This part of your request is refused under section
18(g) of the OIA.

‘If the individual numbers of students from 2022 to 2025 in the programme
are not available, can I obtain the total number of students in each of
the relevant programmes?’

Please find the requested information attached, noting that students
enrolled in conjoint programmes are excluded.

 

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
