Dear OIA Requests,
The response says
“The Ministry’s initial search yielded over 10,000 individual results, which would
require substantial manual collation and research to discern the contents and relevance to your
request.”
Then you say there are none in a date range which you asked me provide. What is the date range please for the 10,000+ emails then ?
Yours sincerely,
Erika Whittome
From: OIA Requests
Health New Zealand
Kia ora Erika,
To clarify, the 10,000+ results came from our initial keyword only search,
before any date range was applied. Our system brings up anything
containing those keywords, even if it’s not actually relevant to your
request. This is due to the design of our information system, which
captures all keyword matches.
When we later refined the request and applied the date range you provided,
the system behaves the same way in that it still returns all keyword
matches within that timeframe, and many of those won’t be in scope. We
then need to manually review each result to determine relevance.

Dear OIA Requests,
You said
“ To clarify, the 10,000+ results came from our initial keyword only search,
before any date range was applied. Our system brings up anything
containing those keywords, even if it’s not actually relevant to your
request. This is due to the design of our information system, which
captures all keyword matches.”
So there are 10,000 hits for those keywords I requested.
A keyword either achieves a results or no result. You say there are results and under the act, I would like there to be some collaborative effort in sharing the information. As we know Ms Mackay discussed these keywords in a CVTAG meeting .in 2021.
Can you please share the emails with these keyword search results for 1st Jan 2021 - 31 Dec 2021?
Yours sincerely,
Erika Whittome
