“copies of all documents and correspondence relating to the emergency
ocean response capability (EORC) with the following organisations:

 

- Transpower

- CentrePort

- Port Taranaki

- Ministry of Defence

- New Zealand Defence Force

- New Zealand Police

- Port Industry Association

- New Zealand Shipping Federation”

 

I can advise the Ministry of Transport holds no documents or
correspondence relating to the organisations specified in relation to
EORC.

Therefore, I am refusing your request under Section 18(e) of the Act; that
the document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist
or, despite reasonable efforts to locate it, cannot be found.

 

While the EORC Cabinet paper was drafted by the Ministry of Transport, any
consultation with the listed parties was undertaken during the business
case which was drafted by Maritime New Zealand (MNZ).

 

Officials suggest reaching out to MNZ about the information you are
seeking.

 

You have the right to seek an investigation and review of this response by
the Ombudsman, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The relevant
details can be found on the Ombudsman’s website
