Notification that New Zealand citizen had been kidnapped by Trump regime
Jeremy Nimmo made this Official Information request to Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Jeremy Nimmo to read recent responses and update the status.
From: Jeremy Nimmo
Dear Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade,
A response by MFAT to OIA 30354 as of 26 November 2025 states that having kidnapped Sarah Shaw, a New Zealand citizen and victim of domestic violence, and her six year old son, on 24 July 2025, the Trump regime did not advise MFAT that they were illegally holding her until 11 August 2025, nearly three weeks later. It is unclear from this response whether this was a belated but unprompted notification by the US, or whether this was a result of MFAT finally inquiring to ICE after the widespread reporting that Shaw was being illegally held in the American concentration camp.
I am requesting the full contents of the email in which "Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade officials were first advised by the US government of Ms Shaw’s detention was August 11 2025 (Washington time)", redacted of Ms. Shaw's personal details of course, and any emails which MFAT may have sent to the US government to prompt the sending of said email.
Yours faithfully,
Jeremy Nimmo
