Chief Justice's 2024 Annual Report
john luke made this Official Information request to Ministry of Justice
The request was successful.
From: john luke
Dear Ministry of Justice,
I noted, Chief Justice's 2024 Annual Report
https://www.courtsofnz.govt.nz/publicati...
"TRIBUNAL REFORM New Zealanders are more likely to access civil justice through tribunals than through the courts. More than 50 tribunals exist in New Zealand, providing a forum for resolution for a wide range of issues, from motor vehicle disputes to issues with superannuation. The Chief Justice has called for the structural reforms to tribunals that have been recommended by the Law Commission to be put into effect. These reforms would provide tribunals with the institutional structure to ensure independent and effective decision making – a critical requirement for the rule of law, given the nature and extent of the work before them."
Could you please provide the full list and names of the more than 50 tribunals that exist in New Zealand?
Yours faithfully,
john luke
