Thank you for the clarification of your Official Information Act request
to the Department of Internal Affairs that was received via email on 25
July 2025. On 6 August 2025 you clarified the scope of the request, which
is now as follows:

 

Please reduce the scope to all texts and emails concerning the changes
announced in late July.

This should include the decision to put English first and any discussions
around this.

I would like to see when this action was first floated, agreed to and
signed off.

 

I note that any clarification or amendment of a request is considered to
be a new request for the purpose of calculating the maximum statutory
timeframe for response – see section 15(1AA) of the Official Information
Act 1982.

 

I can therefore confirm that we will have our response to you no later
than the updated day of 3 September 2025. We will of course provide this
sooner if we are able to.
