Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,
(Immigration NZ)
A quick question, Truck driver (General) ANZSCO 733111 on an AEWV work visa, applied for before 21 June 2023, job check was done for class 2 license, paid more than median wage ($27.76) of that time ($28/hour), is now eligible to apply for 5-years maximum stay in New Zealand?
If one is eligible, as no reuse of job token is an option, thus, it would require a new job check. So, would a new AEWV work visa application require English language competence, Essential skills, and employers' requirements to be met as well?
Referring to WA4.11.1(b) (iii) and (iv) Transport sector: work to residence.
In Jan 2023, when visa was granted at a median wage, work to residence SR7 did not require any qualification or license to accrue work experience towards 24 months for work to residence: acceptable employment (SR7.10(a) Note: The licencing and qualifications requirements specified above are not required to begin accruing the required 24 months of work in New Zealand (see SR7.15) (Archived 29/08/2023 as it was applicable when visa was granted for both median wage and qualification and licensing).
Please clarify whether a Truck driver (General ) (733111) is eligible for a five-year maximum stay, and as it would need a new job check, are they subject to a new AEWV work visa requirement to be met?
If pay rate/ hour was increased (1.5 of the median wage) later on after the grant of an AEWV work visa, would that be eligible for a maximum stay of five years for skill level 4 or 5?
Thanks!
Yours faithfully,
Mojo
