Misuse of Auror platform

Dear New Zealand Police,

This is a request made under the official information act. Can you please provide me with:

- the most recent training documents NZ police officers and staff have to complete before they can access the Auror platform. If this is an online course, then screenshots of every slide is an acceptable response.
- latest version of NZ police’s Auror use policy.
- NZ police’s latest audit, review or other type of appraisal of the use of the Auror platform to see if it is being used appropriately and not being misused.
- any and all documents, emails, reports, or other communications about misuse of the Auror platform by NZ police officers or staff since 1 January 2024.

I have been asked to advise you that Police requires an extension of time in which to respond to your request, pursuant to section 15A(1)(b), consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.

Police requires until 1 August 2025 to provide a substantive response to your request, however we are endeavouring to provide this to you as soon as possible.
