Dear University of Otago,
Thank you for taking the time to answer this request. Please provide the information to the following questions regarding entry into dentistry (BDS) via the alternative pathway from 2021 to 2025:
1. How many applicants were there in total for the BDS programme from 2021 to 2025? And how many of the total applicants each year were from the alternative pathway? Please also indicate which years was UCAT relevant in the entry requirement process.
2. How many people from the alternative pathway were accepted into the BDS programme in 2021 to 2025?
3. What was the minimum GPA that was accepted for entry into the BDS programme via the alternative pathway in 2021 to 2025?
4. How many people that applied via the alternative pathway were offered an interview in 2021 to 2025?
5. How many people via the alternative pathway that completed an interview were offered a place in the BDS course in 2021 to 2025?
6. Of the successful applicants via the alternative pathway from 2021 to 2025, how many of these applicants are previous masters/PhD students? How many of these successful applicants are previous healthcare workers?
7. Statistically, how did removing UCAT from the entry requirements influence the number of applicants and number of successful applicants? What is the weighting of each of the parameters when considering an applicant for entry into the BDS course?
With regards to Section 12 of the Official Information Act 1982, I am a New Zealand citizen and located in New Zealand. I appreciate your time and efforts.
Yours faithfully,
