‘Would you be able to provide for each of the following papers in the
years 2023 and 2024:

(1) the three compulsory stage one law courses,

(2) the five compulsory stage two law courses,

(3) the three compulsory stage three law courses,

(4) the one compulsory stage four law course, and

(5) every stage three and stage four law elective offered in that year.

 

The following data:

(1) The grade distribution for students' final scores (broken down by
letter grade, e.g. A+, A, A-, etc.),

(2) The number of students who completed the paper, and

(3) The mean and median final marks for the paper (percentage).’

 

The information requested for 2023 is publicly available at [1]Average

students. Your request is refused under s 18(d) in respect of the publicly
available information and under 9(2)(a) in respect of courses with low
numbers of students, to protect their privacy.

The University does not hold final mark statistics. Grades, not marks, are
the University's final measure of academic assessment. Marks are used for
initial calculation of grades (see

but grades may be subsequently changed for various reasons, such as
aegrotat/compassionate consideration or academic misconduct.

 

This constitutes a refusal of this part of your request under section
18(g) of the OIA.
 

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
