On behalf of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment I
acknowledge your email of 10 February 2025 requesting under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:
The 'Land Transport Act 1998', for example, binds the Crown, which is
apparent by way of section 3, 'Act to bind the Crown'; [1] Does the 'Bills
of Exchange Act 1908' bind the Crown?
Your request has been transferred to the Ministry from the Ministry of
Justice on 12 February 2025 and is being processed in accordance with the
Official Information Act 1982.
This is because your request is more closely aligned with the functions of
the Ministry of Business. Section 14(b)(ii) of the Official Information
Act allows me to transfer any request that is believed to be more closely
aligned with the functions of another department, organisation or Minister
of the Crown.
We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible, and no
later than 12 March 2025, being 20 working days after the day your request
was received. If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will
notify you of an extension of that timeframe. If you have any enquiries
