Mr Y made this Official Information request to University of Auckland
The request was successful.
From: Mr Y
Dear University of Auckland,
What is the required GPA in order to gain admission into first year BSc (Biomedical specialisation) or BHSc as a post graduate/current tertiary student from another New Zealand university, when applying under the UTAS category?
Yours faithfully,
Mr Y

Dear requester,
I refer to your request of 29 December 2024. Can you please clarify
whether your request for “required GPA in order to gain admission” to the
specified programmes is seeking information about the minimum GPA to be
considered for admission, or about whether a specific GPA is required for
guaranteed entry to the specified programmes?
Yours sincerely,
Landon Watt

Dear requester,
I refer to your OIA request of 29 December 2024, as clarified on 15
January 2025. The University's response follows.
“What is the required GPA in order to gain admission into first year BSc
(Biomedical specialisation) or BHSc as a post graduate/current tertiary
student from another New Zealand university, when applying under the UTAS
category?”
“I am seeking information regarding the minimum GPA to be considered for
admission under the UTAS category. If possible, please also provide a
guaranteed GPA under this category as well.”
There is no minimum GPA, or guaranteed-entry GPA, for UTAS applicants for
the University’s 2025 limited entry BSc (Biomedical Sciences) or BHSc
programmes at the first year. Selection criteria for 2025 limited entry
programmes are published on the University's website at
