Number of people who made it through mbchb
Elie made this Official Information request to University of Otago
Currently waiting for a response from University of Otago, they must respond promptly and normally no later than (details and exceptions).
From: Elie
Dear University of Otago,
I am request the number of people who graduated through mbchb by in the year 2023 as well as the total number of students admitted. I want this data split into which equity group they came from (or general if they didn’t qualify/ apply through equity groups). If you could also add the specific years in which they dropped out, it would be appreciated.
Yours faithfully,
Elie

I acknowledge receipt of your Official Information Act request.
Would it please be possible to clarify your request?
1. Is there a specific category of entry you are interested in - i.e., Health Sciences First Year, Graduate, or Alternative? We will be able to provide equity group data, but need to know which admissions category(s) you are interested in.
2. By "graduated through MB ChB in the year 2023" - are you referring to students who would have entered the MB ChB programme (Second Year Medicine) in 2019, and would have therefore completed Sixth Year Medicine in 2023?
3. By "the specific years in which they dropped out" - are you interested in receiving data in relation to specific years that students may have left the programme?
We will wait to hear back from you before we continue to process your request.
Ngâ mihi
