Asparagopsis taxiformis risk assesment

Dan Moskovitz made this Official Information request to Ministry for Primary Industries

The request was successful.

From: Dan Moskovitz

Dear Ministry for Primary Industries,

Please provide the risk assessment for the invasive seaweed Asparagopsis taxiformis.

Also, why did MPI choose not to proactively release the A. taxiformis risk assessment?

I eagerly await your response, and wish to pre-emptively all staff for the work which goes into forming and finalizing official information responses. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Yours faithfully,

Dan Moskovitz

From: Dan Moskovitz

Dear Lisa and the MPI OIA team,

Thank you for your response and the effort put in.

Of the six management options proposed in the risk assessment (national eradication, local eradication, suppression (reduce the population), pathway management (slow the spread), gather additional surveillance data, and no response), has MPI made a decision on which option it will pursue? If not, is there a time frame for such a decision?

Yours sincerely,

Dan Moskovitz
