WINZ KPIs and Bonuses

Dear Ministry of Social Development,

I am requesting any and all information and / or documents held by MSD (acting as WINZ) in relation to KPIs (such as, but not limited to, for getting people off of a benefit, etc.), as well as details of any bonuses or other payments made to staff in relation to said KPIs, in accordance with the Official Information Act.

For the purposes of the Act I am a New Zealand Citizen and Resident at the time of making this request.

I note with interest that my two other OIA's to MSD on the same day were acknowledged around the same time but this one was not. I suspect there will not be a response made. This is not a frivolous OIA, however, this is suspicious that there has been no acknowledgement.

The response to this request was misleading, the requester asked for "any and all information and / or documents held by MSD (acting as WINZ) in relation to KPIs (such as, but not limited to, for getting people off of a benefit, etc.)", however the response assumed that the KPIs the requester was seeking were organisational KPIs, rather than KPIs of staff members.

Work and Income definitely do impose KPIs on their workers. Case Managers working with people with work obligations, for instance, have "exit rate" as one of their KPIs.
