My request for information about Honeywell stems from the company’s involvement in the manufacturing of weapons and defense systems. In particular, recent reports, such as the analysis by Al Jazeera, have indicated that Honeywell’s products were used in an Israeli military attack on a school in Gaza. This raises concerns about the potential human rights implications of the company’s activities. Given the global connections between multinational corporations and state actors, it’s important to investigate Honeywell’s operations in New Zealand, especially in any government or corrections contracts, to ensure that no indirect complicity exists in human rights abuses or violations of international law. This request is part of a broader effort to understand the extent to which multinational defense contractors are integrated into New Zealand’s public sector operations and how these ties might conflict with ethical obligations.
