Dear New Zealand Transport Agency,

I would to like to know the cost of the new traffic lights that have been
added 2m in front of the railway traffic lights in Steyne Ave, and 10m
from the existing set of traffic lights where Steyne Ave meets St Andrews
Road.

 

Not interested in what the new roading cost. I just want a break down of
the cost of the absolutely superfluous new traffic lights. Given the state
of our roads nationwide I am fascinated to know how & why this was a
priority. We now have three sets of traffic lights within 10 metres.

Downer Ltd for the Steyne Avenue traffic signals, provided to you on 24
June 2024, should have been withheld under section 9(2)(b)(ii) of the Act,
to protect information where the making available of the information would
be likely to prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied
or who is the subject of the information.

 

Please find attached an amended version of Attachment 1, which we ask that
you refer to instead of the previously released version. We would also
request that you please delete any other copies you hold of the original
copy of this document. We are also contacting the FYI website to request
that it replace the document currently published.

 

It would be appreciated also if you could please remove the recent
Facebook post which contains the unredacted version of this quote, and
should you wish, this version may be used instead.
