Tçnâ koe Duncan

Thank you for your email of 4 March 2024 to the Ministry of Education (the
Ministry) requesting the following information:

o Can I please request all information relating to the decision to build
the additional permanent two storey teaching block at Rolleston
College (currently under construction on the Goulds Road side of the
college).
o Please provide all correspondence, including emails between MOE staff,
contractors and Rolleston College BOT and/or management, relating to
the building of the new teaching block including any correspondence
concerning decisions around when to build the additional teaching
block that was taken at the time Rolleston College was initially
built.

Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act).

Your request, as currently worded, is very broad in nature and scope and
lacks due particularity.

In the hope that we may be able to avoid refusing your request, we would
like to ask you to refine your request. To assist you in clarifying, we
propose:

o limiting “all information” to internal reports and briefings, or
o limiting the scope to information exchanged between specific parties,
or
o limiting the scope to specific issues you are trying to ascertain
regarding the new teaching block
o limiting the scope to KEY correspondence relating to the building of
the new teaching block, or
o reducing the time period requested.

We look forward to hearing from you. Once we have your clarification, we
will commence work on your request.

Please note that in line with Section 15 (1AA) of the Act, if a request is
amended or clarified after the date on which it is received, the Ministry
may treat the amended or clarified request as a new request that replaces
the original request.
