Question re. images of victims of genocide in Palestine
Ali Anwar made this Official Information request to Office of Film and Literature Classification
Response to this request is long overdue. By law Office of Film and Literature Classification should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: Ali Anwar
Dear Office of Film and Literature Classification,
Over the last day, images have been circulated of a Palestinian civilian who had been taken hostage by the Israeli Defense Forces, and then murdered by being driven over with a tracked vehicle while he was still alive.

I am aware that imagery of previous genocidal zionist actions like the mosque attacks committed by Brenton Tarrant in Christchurch in 2019 has been classified as obscene. Are these images of zionist atrocities in Gaza in 2024 also considered obscene, or may they be legally circulated in appropriate settings by those who oppose the support of the Luxon government for these actions?
Yours faithfully,
Ali Anwar
