The request was successful.

    Dear Massey High School,
I couldn't find this information on your website, hence the request.
Could you advise please, your current enrolled student numbers.
Also, could you advise the maximum student capacity of the school, without adding buildings (and presumably staff).
Finally, could you advise if you have a forecast (or point me in the direction of same if someone else may have it) showing when it is expected (presumably based on population data) that your school will reach its maximum capacity for students.
Yours faithfully,
Marcus Cook

    Thank you for your email.
Our roll numbers will be confirmed at 1st March 2024 when we do the roll return to the MOE. At this stage, as it's the first learning week we are still enrolling students and still getting notifications of students not returning.
I have asked the MOE to provide the other information and will supply that to you when I receive it.
Ngā mihi

An update and more information as requested. At today's date we have 1820
 students on our roll.

Information below from the Ministry of Education:
Could you advise the maximum student capacity of the school, without
 adding buildings (and presumably staff).

Attached is the School SPG report which shows (in the lower half of the
pdf.) that the school has 79 teaching spaces and is entitled to 76.  The
entitlement is based on the total roll figures from 1 July 23 showing you
had 1644 students.  This of course includes out of zone students however
when we look to provide further classrooms, we only look at in zone
enrolments. 79 classrooms equates to approximately 1,683 students.

Finally, could you advise if you have a forecast (or point me in the
direction of same if someone else may have it) showing when it is expected
(presumably based on population data) that your school will reach its
 maximum capacity for students.

Between February 2023 and February 2024, Massey High School has
experienced a 13% increase in the school roll. As a result, the school has
now reached its current permanent student capacity based on its February
2024 roll. It is anticipated that due to the numerous housing developments
within Massey High School's catchment, growth will continue at the school
going forward. In addition, the school would need to manage their out of
zone enrolments downs to provide capacity for its in-zone growth.

Within Massey High School's catchment, there are numerous housing
developments currently underway and multiple Future Urban Areas that have
been identified as potential areas for development. Currently, majority of
the growth within the catchment is anticipated to be derived from the
active housing developments within the Redhills Precinct. This area was
live zoned in 2016 through the Auckland Unitary Plan and encompass
approximately 600ha of land. Some of the known housing developments within
the Redhills Precinct are either complete or in the final stages, while
other developments are either in the middle of development or just
started. Monitoring of development within the Redhills Precinct would be
required to monitor growth in the catchment.
