What disciplinary actions have been taken against social workers in the Napier/gisborne offices from 2016-2023

nikki made this Official Information request to Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for nikki to read recent responses and update the status.

From: nikki

Dear Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children,

I have some information in my possession that in 2019 that you ordered an uplift of a child from his primary school in Napier. The announcement was made over the schools PA system, utterly humiliating a 8 year old boy.

This child was bear hugged and dragged out in front of his school mates.
This child urinated himself out of FEAR in the back of the Oranga Tamariki car.

The child has recounted verbally- that the social worker who ordered the uplift, told him that his mother paid OT to uplift him.

The CHILD has no reason to lie.

Then the child was removed from the placement not even 24 hours later, and the parent the child was removed from was paid 20k to shut up.

No apology was issued to the child, or the mother, no compensation, absolutely nothing.

This child has gone on to an extensive criminal lifestyle, multiple attempts to tell authorities about physical abuse, multiple attempts at running away, knives pulled on the child by the father, the entire paternal family have all abused him physically in some way. The child has NO reason to lie.

The child went through five schools in one year.
The child resided with his father 90% of the time.

The mother has been consistently blamed and scapegoated, received criminal charges, been extorted, physically and sexually assaulted by police officers in pursuit of a safe home for her child.

Oranga Tamariki have made absolutely NO attempt at any kind of remedy for the colossal corruption, lies and miscarriage of justice. Rather than own up to a mistake and handle it properly, Oranga Tamariki have literally swept this under the rug.

I am asking officially for my own public record, and to share publicly, the disciplinary procedures around misconduct carried out by social workers.

Can you please inform myself and the public of how many social workers have undergone disciplinary action from the years 2016-2023.

I would also like the information on how many disciplinary actions have been taken against social workers, and how many were substantiated.

I would like the results for the Napier and Gisborne office please.

I will be posting this information publicly for research purposes.

Yours faithfully,

nikki. (living woman)

Dear OIA_Requests (OT),

The case is currently sitting with the ombudsman who aren’t doing anything about it either.

At this point, there is nothing you can do.

Over 100 complaints/ROC have been made about this case.
A complaint was made to the social worker’s registration board, and given the evidence, they closed ranks.

No issues found.

The only option from here is complete transparent exposure.

A class action “suit/case” is in consideration at present.

Just the answer to the information request is all that is required.

Yours sincerely,

nikki
