Statistics on stolen vehicles - success rates/types of crime

Response to this request is long overdue. By law New Zealand Police should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

Please provide all necessary statistics for stolen vehicles including but not limited to:
- no reported stolen per annum over last 3 years
- success rates of recovery
- no hours police investigate per case (average)
- % hours to total duties police hours for vehicle crimes
- total % time to overall crime
- priority of crime to other crimes
- police performance criteria for vehicles (KPI stats)
- # performance measures
- total cost of crime $ spend on vehicle crimes

Section 12(1) of the Official Information Act provides that requests can
only be made by New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, people in New
Zealand, and bodies corporate that are incorporated or have a place of
business in New Zealand.

Police would like to satisfy itself that you are eligible to make a
request under the OIA. Police asks that you provide supporting information
as to your eligibility, such as your New Zealand postal address, or a
personal email address indicating a NZ domain, or NZ phone number on which
I can contact you, or any identity documentation.
