If you are seeking information about processing timeframes for a specific application, I must advise that the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) receive a number of Citizenship data requests which become quickly outdated, as the data is constantly changing.

As noted on our website, once the Department has looked over the application, you will be contacted if any additional information is required.

Your request includes information specific to a country or countries. I must advise that data counts between 1-4 are masked with <5 to help prevent identification of individuals.

In terms of questions 4,5&6, we will be able to cater more in-depth to these requests as it is not related specifically to data.

Please confirm by Wednesday, 15 November 2023 whether you wish for the Department to proceed with your request as is or whether you would like to amend your request based on the information provided. If you would like someone to contact you, please provide a phone number and preferred time.

If you choose to continue with your OIA request as it stands, the Department will provide a response as soon as practicable, and within twenty working days. The 20th working day is 30 November 2023 based on the original request dated, 2 November. Should you choose to amend your request, we may alter the response date accordingly but will notify you of this.

Please note that, in cases where the Department’s response provides information that is identified to be of general public interest, the response may also be published on the Department of Internal Affairs website. If the Department publishes its response to your OIA request, all personal information, including your name and contact details, will be removed.
