Dear CIAL Legal Team,

Thank you for your reply. I would like to know why you waited until the last possible day under the Official Information Act to reject my request? If you regard it as too broad, you could have told me that a few days in.

To clarify my request
- Let's just go for Sustainable Tarras and Stop Central Otago Airport for now.
- Let's make if from 20 July 2020 to the date of this request.
- Let's limit it to a) all emails and b) internal notes, memos or documents

This is not a new request. I am just clarifying.

Dear CIAL Legal Team,

Thanks for your reply.

You are no doubt receiving increased volumes of enquiries because of the significantly heightened level of public concern about your controversial airport proposal. I know that at least two organisations concerned about your airport plans have encouraged their members to submit OIA requests directly to you using the FYI channel, as I have done a few times now.

As regards paragraph 4 of your reply:
a) I have not asked you provide information on specific individuals, and certainly not all members of the named groups. That would be ridiculous.
b) I fail to see what "sustainable tourism" has to do with my specific request. I think you are conflating my request with another.
c) It's quite straightforward to run a word search for "sustainable tarras" and "SCOA" and "stop central otago airport", both in your email system and in your central filing systems. That would take only a few minutes.
d) if you still maintain that this is "too much work" please provide a search result count for each of the terms above, so that I can decide if or how to refine my request further. I don't accept that this reasonable request would "divert staff" significantly. You also have two staff full time on Project Oscar and many support stuff, so what's the issue.

Please just provide me with some answers to these very straightforward questions
