Kia ora Chris,

Thank you for your request for official information, received on 2 August
2023 for:
" Please provide the deaths in excel format for the above codes to include
I49.9, R96.0 and R99
1990-2022
Numbers Per Month
Ages 0-9, 10-19, 20-29 etc"

In order to provide you with the information requested, could you please
clarify the information you are seeking or what information in particular
you are after?

Are you wanting this by description rather than listing the just the
codes?  For example, I49.9 is cardiac arrhythmia, unspecified which won’t
include any cardiac arrythmia death which is specified (e.g. Ventricular
fibrillation and flutter).  Also, R96.0 (Instantaneous death) isn’t an
underlying cause of death code so it won’t be found on any deaths.

Te Whatu Ora might be able to better supply appropriate data, if we know
what you are trying to find out.

Please note, under section 15 of the Official Information Act 1982, any
clarification or amendments made to a request within seven days after the
date it is received, that request may be treated as a new request and the
time limit for the response restarts.

We look forward to receiving your response.

Ngā mihi

Vicky
