Late Night Bus Service Evaluation

David Palmer made this Official Information request to Canterbury Regional Council

The request was partially successful.

From: David Palmer

Kia Ora,

I've written to Environment Canterbury previously about the possibility of a late-night bus service on Fridays and Saturdays to provide alternative transport options for people who have been out drinking at Christchurch central-city bars. Currently buses do not run past midnight, which means there are limited low-cost options for bar patrons who should not be driving, especially for those who live in the outer suburbs and towns.

Has Environment Canterbury done any evaluation or sought any advice on how a late-night bus service could be implemented and what it might cost? If so, please provide me with any documentation, communication, outcomes or advice related to this process.

Thank you very much for your time and your hard mahi,
David Palmer
