Thank you for your request for official information received on 7
July 2023 requesting:
“Could I please have all written advice prepared by the
Ministry over the last ten years for ministers and other government
agencies on the question of a new Medical School at the University of
Waikato, including arguments made for and against. ”
Manatû Hauora (the Ministry of Health) has decided to extend the period of
time available to respond to your request under section 15A of the
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) as the request necessitates a
search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original
time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operations of the
Ministry and the consultations necessary to make a decision on the request
are such that a proper response to the request cannot be made within the
original time limit.
You can now expect a response to your request on, or before, 5 September
2023.
You have the right, under section 28 of the Act, to ask the Ombudsman to
review my decision to extend the time available to respond to your
request.
