Incident After Habour Bridge North Bound - Deliberate Damage - Road Rage using Steel Tray of Ford Ranger

Wesley Faleolo made this Official Information request to Auckland Transport

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Wesley Faleolo to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Wesley Faleolo

Dear Auckland Transport,

after weeks of deliberating on an incident that happened on the 15th May it has been brought to my attention that I have a duty to seek video evidence footage to confirm that I may be a victim of road rage from an irate erratic and reckless driver who seemed to have purposely nudged my vehicle with his service vehicle (with solid steel tray) - when he swayed into my lane to damage my vehicle with his steel tray. This incident occured after giving way to the vehicle after being tailgated at speed on the fast lane after the Habour Bridge, following my lane change to give way to the speeding vehicle - the vehicle also decided to follow my lane change onto the 2nd inside lane then decided to overtake me on the inside 3rd lane and swayed unto my 2nd lane to nudge my vehicle on the front right hand wide then continued onto his 3rd lane.

Date: 15/05/2023
Time: Approx 10:50am 10:55am
Road: North Bound Habour Bridge (just passing Onewa Road Off Ramp)

Vehicles - White Service Vehicle with Water Blaster equipment - Ford Ranger - Rego plate GSF213.
No Damage to Vehicle from incident
My Vehicle - Brown Nissan Skyline Rego Plate PQR785
Damaged RHS front side Panel - where corner of steel tray collided.

This incident needs to be investigated to ensure it is not found to be deliberate. If the footage suggests the driving is dangerous and threatening to the public - that the law should intervene in that this type of rage from the drive does not continue as it can lead to cause serious if not fatal injury. I will be using this evidence to provide to local authorities to allow them to investigate if the crash was deliberate.

Can you please provide footage of the incident.

Thank You

Yours faithfully,

Wesley Faleolo
