SA2 level benefit rates
Tamsyn made this Official Information request to Ministry of Social Development
Response to this request is long overdue. By law Ministry of Social Development should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: Tamsyn
Dear Ministry of Social Development,
We have been downloading TA benefits files from this website (https://www.msd.govt.nz/about-msd-and-ou...), however we would like to be able to report this benefit data at a more granular level. If possible, we would like to receive historical data by SA2 where ethnicity is reported in line with how it is now generated (as detailed here https://www.msd.govt.nz/about-msd-and-ou...).
Please could you provide a data set specifying the number of people claiming the following types of benefits, quarterly, by the latest SA2 Boundary used in the file statistical area 2 (SA2) boundaries for 2022:
- Job Seeker Support (JS Related)
- Sole Parent Support (SPS Related)
- Support Living Payment (SLP Related)
- Other benefits
for the period Sep 2013 to Feb 2023. And, if possible, could we also start receiving this dataset quarterly on an ongoing basis?
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards,
Tamsyn
