On behalf of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment I
acknowledge your email of 10^th December 2022 requesting under the
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:

 

‘following information regarding DJ Dimension’s (Robert Etheridge) MIQ
room allocation.

 

The Ministry of Health publicly confirmed Etheridge arrived on a flight
from the UK on December 16 and originally stayed at the Grand Mercure
hotel in Auckland.

 

At the press conference Minister Hipkins gave on the 30/12/21 Hipkins
stated “He was able to secure a voucher through the lobby release system,
that everyone goes through.” As such, I am seeking the following
information. When was the spot DJ Dimension secured, released into the
system and made available for booking? When was it booked?

 

In addition, Minister Hipkins also stated DJ Dimension had been granted an
essential worker visa in order to perform in NZ. As such I request the
following information. When was the essential worker visa for DJ Dimension
applied for? What date was it accepted? Who was the individual or company
that made the application?

 

Please provide all communications such as email, texts and phone calls 
between MBIE and the individual or company that submitted DJ Dimensions
essential visa application relating to this application. In addition,
please provide all communications concerning  MBIE and the submitter of
the application regarding DJ Dimension isolating on Waiheke Island after
leaving the Grand Mercure. This should include, but not be limited to,
original application, any queries, approval of the Waiheke location etc.’

 

Please note that days between 25 December 2022 to 15 January 2023
(inclusive) are defined as non- working days in the Act and are not
counted in the calculation for the response due date. This will affect the
time period for responding to your request.

 

Your request is being processed in accordance with the Act and a response
will be sent to you in due course.
