Hi Gaoyang,

Thank you for your request received on 24 November 2022. As you have not provided any context for your request, we have interpreted your request to mean:

Qn 1 -What is the usual timeframe of a National Security Check for a student visa
Qn 2 - What is the average processing timeframe of 95% and 98% of full fee paying student visa applications?

Can you please confirm that the above is correct by 29 November. If this is not correct, can you please clarify your request by 29 November 2022.
Best Regards

Dear INZ OIAs,

To be precise, the situations is like I submitted my application 80 days ago. Now I've been granted an interim visa, which will expire if I travel overseas. I need to travel to Australia to present my work at a conference in early December and my Australian visa had been granted by early September. The only bottleneck now is the NZ student visa.
In the worst-case scenario (e.g. the 95% percentile processing time is exorbitantly long), I still need to tell the organiser that I cannot make it and they need to fill in a hole (the least wanted thing in a conference) left by my oral presentation which will not be happening.

Yours sincerely,
Gaoyang Li
