Expected vs Actual Timeframe for National Security Check

Abraham made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Abraham

Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,

I would like information on what the expected verse actual timeframe is for National Security Checks (NSC) to be completed by a third party agency for the 2021 Residency Visa? I understand this may vary, but surely MBIE has an agreement with third parties on what the expected timeframe is for completion of a NSC.

If this cannot be answered - what is the average waiting period for an applicant who requires a NSC for the 2021 Residency Visa?

I would also like to know how many 2021 Residency Visas Immigration New Zealand received which require the applicant to have a NSC completed? How many NSC have been completed so far from the 2021 Residency Visa category?

Yours faithfully,
Abraham
