Decision Dates

Gregory Soar made this Official Information request to Whanganui District Council

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Whanganui District Council should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Gregory Soar

Dear Whanganui District Council,

An earlier request asking about the opening date for Whanganui East Pools was replied to with the answer no decision has been made tba.

I wish to be informed about when this decision is to be made. Please inform me of when my council will be making a decision into the opening of the Whanganui East pools this summer. It is now well after Labour Weekend which is the opening time for many out door pools in NZ.

1. When does Council intend to make a decision about the opening of the Whanganui East pools this summer?
2. Why has the council left it so late in the season to decide when / if the Whanganui East Pools will be open this summer?
3. Council received a complaint about chlorine overdose from me this year. A previous OIA response said go ask Whanganui Sport. What action did the Whanganui Council take upon receipt of that complaint?
4. Was was there no response to my complaint in 3 above even if to say ask Whanganui Sport?
5. As the owner of the pools why does Whanganui Council feel an OIA made to them about their property should be answered by Whanganui Sport when a notifiable offence has been reported?
6. What action if any at all, did Whanganui Council take after receiving my report of a chlorine over dose that was not advised to those who had swum in that water?
7. How did Whanganui Council meet all safety requirements by taking zero action over my formal complaint about a chlorine over dose that was not advised the public?

Yours faithfully,

Gregory Soar
