New system Citizenship system technical issues the increasing timeframes.
Pete made this Official Information request to Department of Internal Affairs
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Pete to read recent responses and update the status.
From: Pete
Dear Department of Internal Affairs,
It is understood that the introduction of the new system has resulted in two different backlogs, backlog for applications that pass the auto check and another backlog for applications that dont. It is noticed also that submission date is not anymore a selection criteria for the next application to be assessed leaving thousands of applications in the abandoned backlog that keeps getting larger and slower. My questions to the department are :
1- How long the new system is being under development ? were the current technical issues captured as risk while planning for this project and what is your mitigation or reponse plan ? 2- When do you expect the most stable release to be deployed?
3- What is your plan ( if any) to handle applications that needs manual assessment ?
4- Are you going to follow submission date order when manually process applications ?
5- The timeframe has been increased many times during the past couple of months, do you plan to have another increase soon?
6- According to your data , some applications submitted in June 2021 still not assigned a case officer , while other submitted in June 2022 have been already approved!! What made those who submitted their application last year be deprioritized?!.
Yours faithfully,
Pete
