Dear Mr Rennie

RNZ supplies the following information in response (in italics) to your
request below.

1.All information from 2018 relating to RNZ giving permission to
journalist or presenter employees or contractors to work for other
entities, paid or unpaid.

All employees and contractors are required to declare any conflict of
interests to their direct manager and managers are required to manage
those conflicts.  Please refer to our Editorial Policy document at section
5.2, see below:

[1]https://www.rnz.co.nz/about/documents

and also in our “Conflict of Interest Policy” attached.  RZN withholds the
register referred to in the policy as to supply it would be to breach our
employees’ and contractors’ rights to privacy and also breach RNZ’s
obligations as an employer.

2. Including their employment as interviewers acting for employment panels
or similar and the names of such panels and the individuals interviewed.

This is read as a part of question 1.

3. Please also include information you hold about RNZ’s requirements for
declaring such matters to RNZ when accepting such jobs.

Please see our answer to question 1.

4. Whether RNZ employees/contractors have declared all such matters.

Employees and contractors are aware of their obligations under our
policies.

5. Information you hold relating to the employees/contractors subsequently
publicly declaring their interest before interviewing the people
previously involved in their outside work, for RNZ.

Please see our response to question 1 with respect to the register
maintained.

As we are required to do, this message is to also advise you that our
response to your request can be referred to the Ombudsman’s Office for
review under s 28 (3) of the Official Information Act if you wish.

Kind regards
