Request for Information – Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act (LGOIMA) 1987

We refer to your official information request dated 10 July 2022 asking for information about Hutt City Council's funding of Ati Awa Toa FM and Hutt City FM 106 in the financial years 30 June 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Hutt City Council funded Hutt City FM in 2022 through the Community Engagement Fund, for the purchase of equipment. This grant was for $1035, which was paid to Hutt City FM on 2 February 2022.
We have also advertised with Hutt City FM during this period, for distributing information about bin returns and Matariki celebrations, each totalling $40 for a week of advertising.

Hutt City Council has not funded Ati Awa Toa FM during the 2020-2022 financial years.

With reference to your email of 7 August 2022, it is not correct that Hutt City Council's response to this LGOIMA is late. Your LGOIMA request was received by the Hutt City Council on Monday 11 July 2022. The 20th working day from that date is today, 8 August 2022. I refer you to the official information calculator on the website of the Office of the Ombudsman (see www.ombudsman.parliament.nz/).

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this response. Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.

Please note that this letter may be published on the Council’s website.
