Dear Mili Herrera,

Apologies, I must not have hit send on my response to your refining email.

I understand this will need to be treated as a new request with a reset timeframe.
I would like to refine my request by excluding emails and text messages from me the scope, so that only reports, aides memoir and written memos to Ministers' offices are in scope.

Please let me know if this would still require substantial collation and I'll be happy to discuss how it can be refined further.

Yours sincerely,

Will Inglis

Tēnā koe Mr Inglis,

I trust this message will find you well.

You have advised that you would be willing to refine your request; after
conversations with the subject matter experts, we would like to ask if you
will consider refining your request to this term of Government rather than
the last 5 years.

If you are unwilling to refine your request as stated above, it is likely
that we would seek an extension of the statutory due date as your request,
as it is currently framed will take a considerable amount of time to
complete.

Please let the Department of Internal Affairs know before 2 August 2022
whether you are willing to refine your request by replying to this email.

Please note, under section 15(1AA) of the Official Information Act 1982,
if you amend or clarify your request, this will be a new request for the
purpose of calculating the maximum statutory timeframe for response.

Kia ora Mili Herrera,

If there is content in the term of this government, then I am happy to refine as suggested.

It is possible that I will subsequently make another request for a previous time period, but for now the current term of government will be sufficient.

Thanks for your help on this. Much appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Will Inglis

Tçnâ koe Mr Inglis,

I trust this message will find you well.

Thank you for your prompt response and for refining your request. Your
updated request is:

“Can I please have any reports, aide memoires or written memos to
Ministers’ offices in this term of Government regarding the Charities Act,
particularly information regarding the provision for advancement of
religion, and/or its application to organisations like Sanitarium and
other businesses owned by religious organisations”.

treated as a new request that replaces the original as of the date of the
amendment (in accordance with section 15(1AA) of the Official Information
Act 1982).

The timeframe for response has been adjusted accordingly.  The Department
of Internal Affairs’ response will now be provided as soon as practicable
