Dear Serena,

I refer to your request of 7 May 2022. We estimate that it would take
approximately 7 hours of staff time to make the requested information
available. Accordingly, the University may impose of $38 per half hour of
staff time after the first (uncharged) hour under the Ministry of
Justice’s charging guidelines. Please advise by 16 May 2022 whether you
are willing to pay a charge for provision of the information in question,
or whether you wish to narrow your request (which would require the
University to conduct another assessment of the time required to make the
requested information available).

Yours sincerely,

Rebecca Ewert

General Counsel

University of Auckland

Dear Serena,

I refer to your request as amended on 11 May 2022. The information
requested is attached, subject to the following:

o There were 5 successful applicants in the FY International category
for 2021. Information about the successful applicant in this category
with the lowest core GPA, MMI and UCAT score is withheld under section
9(2)(a) of the OIA to protect their privacy. The median GPA score is
also withheld to protect the privacy of that applicant under the same
section.
o There were 5 successful applicants in the Grad International category
for 2022. Information about the successful applicant in this category
with the lowest core GPA score is withheld under section 9(2)(a) of
the OIA to protect their privacy. The median GPA score is also
withheld to protect the privacy of that applicant under the same
section.
o International Graduate applicants were not required to sit the UCAT
and MMI. Accordingly the UCAT and MMI information requested for these
applicants does not exist. This technically constitutes a refusal
under section 18(g) of the OIA.

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.

Yours sincerely,

Rebecca Ewert

General Counsel

University of Auckland
