Dear New Zealand Defence Force,
I have made a similar request few years ago and wondering where you are up to now.
Attached your previous reply. Thanks
Your request to the Ministry of Defence for progress on the establishment
of a New Zealand Humanitarian Overseas Service Medal as described in the
petition of Thomas Peter Alan Ward was transferred to the New Zealand
Defence Force (NZDF) on 14 December 2018. The NZDF and the Honours Unit, Cabinet Office, are working together to
develop advice for the Government on how humanitarian and disaster relief
service could be recognised. This work is in its initial stages. Once this
work is further progressed the input of the non-government organisation
community will be sought.
Yours faithfully,
john luke

Greetings John Luke,
Thank you for your continued support for the establishment of a New Zealand Humanitarian Overseas Service Medal.
This submission was endorsed unanimously by the House in 2017. As it is now 2024 it appears to me that there needs to be a sharp reminder to those who are best able to action this worthwhile cause.
Best regards
Alan Ward
