The request was partially successful.
From: Thomas Blennerhassett
Dear University of Auckland,
Under the Official Information Act (OIA), please supply any documents or correspondence relating to the process used by the Scholarships Office in calculating a University of Auckland (UoA) GPA equivalent for a Masters (of Science) degree from the University of Oxford, as relevant to determining the eligibility for a University of Auckland Research Masters Scholarship.
In particular, please include all the relevant details such that an individual would be able to faithfully reproduce the Scholarships Office's GPA conversion for any given example of such a degree, including (but not limited to); how the appropriate weighting/marking rubric for a given degree is determined, and the general metrics used for converting a given individual University of Oxford mark to its UoA equivalent.
Yours faithfully,
Thomas Blennerhassett

Dear Thomas,
I refer to your request of 11 April 2022. The University’s response
follows:
The methodology for the Scholarships Office’s calculation of Grade Point
Equivalent for a Masters of Science degree from the University of Oxford
is as per our website at [1]GPE Calculator (auckland.ac.nz). This is set
out in the attached document. For the University of Oxford, the GPA
derived from the methodology set out on our website is multiplied by 1 to
convert it to a GPE after you click the “Calculate” button (i.e. it does
not change). In relation to your request for information concerning
eligibility for the University of Auckland Research Masters Scholarship,
see attached the regulations for that scholarship.
Yours sincerely,
Rebecca Ewert
