Question regarding Parents Residency Visa EOI

A KS made this Official Information request to Kris Faafoi

The request was partially successful.

From: A KS

Dear Kris Faafoi,

My question is regarding the Parents Residency Visa EOI. The EOI selections was due to start in May 2020 but suspended due to Covid.
At that time, the EOI selection for Skilled Migration stream was also suspended

1:- INZ has allowed the skilled migrant EOI applicants to apply under RV2021 visa but there has been no news of selection of the parents residence EOIs. Could you guide by when the parent residency EOI selections will be resumed.? It is odd that both skilled and parents EOI selection were suspended at the same time but now only skilled EOI have been given the chance of 2021 RV visa.

2:- If we refer to the following INZ document , it seems there was a lot of discussion on parents visa from March 2021 till Oct 2021
https://fyi.org.nz/request/17478/respons...
Could you please be able to provide more update on decision regarding this visa as there are many parents of the hard working migrants who are in the queue since long.

Yours faithfully,

A KS
