Confirming receipt of request. An initial search of our document management system has not yielded any results. It would be useful, to enable us to undertake further searches, if you could provide the reason why this request was directed to the Ministry for Culture and Heritage?
You also refer to communications with Stuff, is there a particular news article you have seen that may be relevant to this request?
Please note - You are under no obligation to provide this information but without his information, it will be difficult for the Ministry to undertake further searches.

Kia ora,
The reason for applying to the Ministry for Culture and Heritage is to see if there is any connection to the administration of the Public Interest Journalism Fund. The two specific articles that I am interested have been removed by Stuff. They were both published in September 2020. One was entitled ‘Controversy over Barry’s land purchase’. The other ‘The battle over a Hutt paradise'. Both articles were disappeared by Stuff in April 2021, the same month as the announcement of the criteria for the applications to the fund was announced.

Thank you for the reply. The Public interest Journalism Fund is not administered by the Ministry. It is administered by New Zealand on Air - A Crown Entity which is subject to the Official Information Act in its own right.
The Ministry will undertake a search, but based on what you have outlined below - there is unlikely to be any material held by the Ministry regarding this request.

Further to this response below. The Ministry has undertaken a search of its records. This has not yielded any results. Therefore, this request is refused as the information you have asked for does not exist or, despite reasonable efforts, cannot be found.
As mentioned, NZ On Air is responsible for the fund you refer to. If you have further questions, you may wish to direct your query to that entity.
You have the right to ask an Ombudsman to review this response.
