From: Rebecca Ewert
University of Auckland
Dear Siobhan,
I refer to your request of 3 February. In part, you requested the
following:
5. Range of GPA for all applicants in this category
Similar OIA requests ask for the highest GPA for an unsuccessful
applicant, and the lowest GPA for a successful applicant. Please advise
whether this is the GPA range you wish to request, or otherwise specify
which two GPA figures you are requesting.
Yours sincerely,
Rebecca Ewert

From: Rebecca Ewert
University of Auckland
Dear Siobhan,
I refer to your request of 3 February, as amended on 4 February. The
University’s response follows:
2022 MBChB admissions:
“1. Number of graduate seats available in SWD”
2 seats are reserved for SWD category in total. There is no specific
reserve for Graduate applicants.
“2. Number of graduates interviewed in SWD”
6.
“3. Interview GPA cut off for graduate SWD applicants”
7.5
“4. How many graduate applicants there were in this category”
9.
“5. Range of GPA for all applicants in this category.”/ “the highest GPA
for an unsuccessful
applicant, and the lowest GPA for a successful applicant”
I had not been informed of the low number of applicants prior to seeking
clarification of this part of your request. As there were – at this point
in time - 4 unsuccessful applicants, 3 successful applicants, and 2
waitlisted applicants we cannot provide the GPA of the applicant with the
lowest and highest GPA out of all applicants, or the highest GPA for an
unsuccessful applicant and the lowest GPA for a successful applicant, in
order to protect their privacy under section 9(2)(a) of the OIA.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
Yours sincerely,
Rebecca Ewert
