Dear Wairarapa District Health Board,

I am seeking the number of people that have visited any/all hospitals and
doctor's surgeries within the WDHB for any/all heart related issues,
(including but not limited to pericarditis, myocarditis, heart attacks and
strokes). The data requested is for the 11 month period from February 2021
until December 2021 inclusive, displayed in month by month format, and
compared to the monthly data for the previous three years.

Thank you for your OIA request received 28 January 2022 relating to Heart
Conditions

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible and in
any event no later than 28 February 2022, that being 20 working days after
the day your request was received. If we are unable to respond to your
request by then, we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe.

 

If the information requested cannot be made available without substantial
collation, under section 18(f) and section 18A(1)(a) of the Official
Information Act 1982 we may refuse the request or fix a charge under
section 15. If your request falls into this category we will inform you as
soon as possible.

 

If any additional factors come to light that are relevant to your request,
please do not hesitate to contact us so that these can be taken into
account.

 

Please note that, like all DHBs across New Zealand, Wairarapa DHB has
adopted a model of proactive disclosure which sees OIA responses publicly
available on our website no less than one week after they have been
released. If you believe there are any special reasons why proactive
disclosure should not apply to your response, we will be happy to consider

I refer to your official information request dated 28 January 2022 for
heart related issues

 

The Official Information Act requires that we advise you of our decision
on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we received
your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time
limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the
time to make our decision, to 28 March 2022

 

This extension is necessary because your request is for a large quantity
of information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably
interfere with our operations / your request necessitates a search through
a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would
unreasonably interfere with our operations / consultations necessary to
make a decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot
reasonably be made within the original time limit.

 

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
