We acknowledge receipt of your Official Information Act request.

Would it be possible to please clarify what you mean by "basic statistics" for the LAWS101 A and LAWS101 B exams? If you were able to clarify exactly which statistics you were after it will allow us to process your request more efficiently.

We will wait to hear back from you before we continue to process your request.

From: JD

Dear UoO - Official Information Act,

The Laws101 exam was split into two exams A & B, I was requesting simple statistics which I meant as a mean, median, and standard deviation for each of the exams. If this is not possible please just complete the first half of my request which related to the overall grades for Laws101.

Yours sincerely,

JD

I refer to your Official Information Act (Act) request dated 21 January 2022 and clarified on 24 January 2022.

The Act requires that we advise you of our decision no later than 20 working days after the date your request was received. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit. We are therefore writing to notify you, pursuant to section 15A of the Act, of a short extension of the time to make our decision in respect of your request, by a further 4 working days - to Friday 25 February 2022.

This extension is necessary to allow for consultations necessary to make a decision on your request. As you may appreciate our staff are currently engaged in urgent and important work, and necessary consultation is taking a bit longer than normal.

We apologise for the delay and thank you for your patience. We will endeavour to provide the information sooner if possible.

If you are not satisfied with our extension of time, you have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the Act. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.

Ngā mihi
Kelsey

Thank you for your patience. I refer to your Official Information Act request dated 21 January 2022 and clarified on 24 January 2022.

Please see attached a spreadsheet that shows the information you have requested.

Please note that each LAWS101 exam counts for 50% of the final mark result. The final mark result is a scaled result of the two exams.

We trust that this information will be helpful.
