I am requesting the specific grade required to be awarded the William Kennedy Prize (1st, 2nd and 3rd placings) for 300-level-politics in 2021 as well as the requirements to be considered for this award (specifically how many 300-level politics papers a student must take to be considered, and if they must all be taken within the same year). I am in NZ subject to s 12 of the Act.

I refer to your information request dated 22 December 2021 made under the
Official Information Act (Act). You have requested information regarding
the 2021 William Kennedy Prize for 300-level Politics.

 

Please see below our responses to each of your questions.

 

 1. Specific grade required to be awarded the William Kennedy Prize (1^st,
2^nd and 3^rd placings) for 300-level Politics in 2021

 

For privacy reasons, we decline providing the specific grades of the 1^st,
2^nd, and 3^rd placed students for the 2021 William Kennedy Prize for
300-level Politics.  Our decision is made pursuant to section 9(2)(a) of
the Act to protect the privacy and personal information of these students.

 

 2. Requirements to be considered for this award (specifically how many
300-level Politics papers a student must take to be considered, and if
they must all be taken in the same year)

 

Please find the attached prize criteria for the William Kennedy Prize for
the Best Performance at the 300-level by a Politics Major, and the William
Kennedy Prize for the Best Performance at the 300-level by a Māori
Politics Major Finalist. More information regarding the awards and prizes
offered by the University of Otago Department of Politics can be found at
